[edit] General information
The Grünhornlücke (3,280 m) is a high mountain pass in the eastern Bernese Alps, connecting the Aletsch Glacier and the Fiescher Glacier in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
The pass lies between the Grünhörnli on the north and the Wyssnollen on the south. The pass provides access from Concordia via the Grünnegfirn(a smaller firn feeding the Grosser Aletsch Glacier at Concordia) in the west onto the Walliser Fiescherfirn in the east, therefor it is a famous crossing between the Konkordia Hut and Finsteraarhorn Hut.
Further the pass provides access to the normal route of the Grünneghorn and Gross Grünhorn.
[edit] History
The Grünhornlücke was first crossed by Rudolf Meyer, Arnold Abbühl, Kaspar Huber, Alois Volker and Joseph Boris on 11 August 1812.
