The Mönchsjoch Hut (German: Mönchsjochhütte) (3,658 m12,001.312 ft
2.273 miles) is a mountain hut located in the Bernese Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. It is one of the highest huts owned by the Swiss Alpine Club.
The hut lies just above the Obers Mönchjoch (3,658 m12,001.312 ft
2.273 miles), between Mönch and Trugberg, on the upper Aletsch Glacier. It is used for the ascents of Jungfrau, Mönch and other peaks of the region.
The hut wardens are Christian Almer & Heidi König (Tel: 0041 (0)33 853 44 52 & 0041 (0)79 739 90 66).
[edit] Approach routes
The hut is easily accessible by pedestrians from the Jungfraujoch railway station during the summer season by a secured piste on the glacier (1 hour). However during winter season it remains accessible only to mountaineers. It can also be accessed from the Konkordia Hut on the south.
