Call the number to get the key to the unguarded hut. 30 CHF per person.
Two hot plates are available to cook (wood and gas available). Pans, plates, cups and blankets are available. Drinks can be purchased for a fee. It has a money box and the owners rely on the honesty of the mountaineers.
[edit] Access route
Grindelwald - Alpiglen - Eiger trail. Follow signs to Ostegg Hut. In the end there is a klettersteig (K3). 3 h from Alpiglen. Grindelwald - Gletscherschlucht - through the forest to Pt. 1752 - follow signs to Ostegg Hut - Klettersteig
Should only be undertaken by alpinists comfortable in exposed terrain. The klettersteig is K3 level and passes through a waterfall.
