Template documentation
[edit] Important notice
This template imports a lot of data 'automated' from other pages (such as altitude of mountain huts, valley bases etc.). Mount Wiki uses a caching system with a 48h TTL (Time to Live) which means that the imported data might appear incomplete at first sight. Note however that within maximum 48h all data should be imported and the page should be displayed correctly. More information on imported data is present below.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Mountain | Complete name of the mountain or pass. For example: Mount Everest or Trifthorn (Jungfrau Group). |
| Route_name | Name of the described route. Names should be as specific as possible: use for example North-North-East Ridge instead of E Ridge. |
| Route_inc | The name of the inclusion page. To make advanced queries easy, the infoboxes are made on a separate page and included into the main page. For example: You fill an infobox template for the Matterhorn and decide that is 'Route1'. The infobox should be on the Matterhorn/Route1 page and Route_inc should be '/Route1/. Do not worry however, this parameter is only used to display some additional information on the subpage that is not included into the main page. |
| Difficulty | Difficulty of the route. For European alpine routes, use the French grades and an image will automatically be generated. (F, PD, D etc.) |
| Type | Type of the route. Choose one of the following types: Snow, Mostly snow, Snow and Rock, Mostly rock, Pure rock. More information is available at the Route Type page. |
| Angle | Maximum steepness of the route in degrees. For example: 45 or 80. [Should be between 0 and 90, however should only be mentioned if the angle is worth mentioning]. |
| Rock_min | The lower difficulty of the rock climbing sections in UIAA scale. There are some limitations though. Use arabic (regular) numbers; these will get converted on the fly to proper roman numbers. Instead of using 1+, I+ i+, II- etc. which make ranking difficult, use the 'Rock_min and Rock_max wisely. A route with difficulty II+ or III- can be displayed as following: Rock_min=2 and Rock_max=3. |
| Rock_max | The upper difficulty of the rock climbing sections. See Rock_min. |
| Duration | Duration of the route in hours. |
| Duration_max | If you want to specify a duration interval, specify the upper limit of the duration bracket here. |
| Hut | The name of the mountain hut (hotel) which is commonly used as starting point on the route. This parameter is very important as most of the imported data uses only this parameter as input, make 100% sure it is correct! |
| Approach parameters | The right column in the infobox contains information on the approach to the hut or hotel. Valley base(s), Altitudes and Difficulty are retrieved throughout Mount Wiki automatically using the Hut parameter. |
| Height Gains | The altitude differences are calculated automatically using only the Hut parameter as input. Valley bases are extracted from the 'Hut Infobox' and altitudes are extracted from the 'Hut Infobox' and 'Village Infobox'. If certain values (necessary for calculation) are missing, add them to the appropriate infobox. |
| Topo | The topographic maps that are needed for this route. Swiss SLK maps, such as 1348: Zermatt, can be automatically added by using the nr. of the map between angel brackets ({{}}). Other maps can be added manually. |
