The Zamboni and Zappa hut (Italian: Rifugio Zamboni e Zappa) (2,065 m) is a mountain hut above Macugnaga in the Pennine Alps in Italy. It's situated below very attractive grassy slopes NE of Pizzo Bianco on the E side of the R lateral moraine of the Belvedere Glacier. It is idealy situated for observing the E face of the Monte Rosa. A short distance from the hut is a very large cubic boulder with a number of bolted routes.

[edit] Approach Routes

Take the chairlift to Belvedere (1,904 m). A 5-10 min walk leads to the edge of the Belvedere Glacier. Descend moraine on to the rubble covered glacier and cross it S to the R lateral moraine (waymarked with paint flashes). Follow the crest to a block and cairn (about 20 min from Belvedere) then take the lower track to the hut. (45 min from Belvedere, 2,5h from Macugnaga)
